Dad fills a balloon with water. We walk it out to the deck.
“Hold it like this,” Dad says.
I hold the balloon where it is tied in a knot. The weight of the water pulls the balloon into a long shape. I dangle it above the drive way.
“Now let go,” Dad says.
Splat!
The balloon smacks the ground below. Water sprays a spiky pattern on the pavement.
Cool trick, I think.
Let’s do it again! I shout with glee.
