Yellow.
I think the glass door to the back porch needs a color. The sun shines through that door.
So, yes, yellow it is.
I pick up my color stick and draw on the glass.
I step back and look at my work.
Yellow. Good choice.
It is a happy color.

To build things is fun. But it is even more fun to take things apart. Into as many parts as I can.
Only then do I learn how things work.

Mom takes the mesh walls off the sides of my bed.
Broke it, I cry. What is there to stop me now from falling off?
“You are a big girl,” Mom says. “You will be fine.”

It is time to get up. But Mom still lies in bed. I tip toe in her room. I lean close. I grab an eye lash and pull one of her eyes open.
Beep, beep, I prompt her.

I am at gym class and I think I will make summer sauce. But Mom grabs and holds my feet in the air.
I can stand on my head!
“That’s a great hand stand,” the coach says.
