I like to go to the store with Mom to buy food and other things for the house.
Mom makes a list and asks Dad if there is anything else she needs to add.
Then she asks me if there is anything I want.
I’m ready.
I hand her my shopping list.

I find a big ring with beads that slide all around it.
What’s this? I ask Mom.
“It’s a teething ring,” Mom says. “You chewed on it when you were a baby.”
I will play with it again, I say, when I grow smaller.
