I find my pink basket full of eggs.
Mom, thank you for these, I say.
“I didn’t give you those,” Mom says, “The Easter bunny did.”
No, he didn’t, I say. You did. You’re the Easter bunny.
“Oh, yeah?” Mom asks. “Then who’s Santa Claus.”

We head north to a small, quaint town that lights up its park for the holidays. There are lots and lots of lights. Lights of every color.

Mom leans one cookie next to another cookie. She squirts icing to seal the cookies together in the shape of the letter L. Mom does this again. Now the cookies make a square.

We drive two more days and head home. The closer we get, the colder it gets.
