I make up boo-boos just so I can ask Mom to kiss them.
And she does.

Snow on the ground. Again. I thought spring was here.
It may still be cold, but I am in the mood for ice cream. With ‘nanas.
I will just wear my hat to keep warm.

I saw snow on the ground one day ago. I saw flakes dance in the air.
But, this day, the snow is gone. And I find blue blooms in the yard. They speak to me in soft voices. We bring spring, they say.

I toot in my pants.
Diaper! Diaper! I call out to Mom.
Mom peeks in my pants.
“No,” Mom says, “it must have been just air.”
Diaper! Diaper! I wail. Until Mom gives in.
She takes off my clean diaper and puts a new one on.
Ewwww, I point to the first diaper.
Mom just laughs.

Mom has caught me twice shoving a kid in gym class. She asks my day care teacher why I might do this.
“Is it a kid she knows?” the teacher asks Mom.
