I see the blue gate is not closed. I make a run for it. I dash out of the two-year-old room and skid around the corner.
I squeal and laugh at my game.
But I run too fast. And slip on the rug. And crash into the wall.
Bam!
A new bump. A new bruise.

Code words

I do not talk at day care. I save all my words for Mom and Dad at home.
But Mom shared my word list with day care. And that was the key.
Now folks at day care talk to me in my own words. They have learned my code.
So I open up and talk to them, too.
