Mom throws the ball across the front yard. Icky takes off after the ball, grabs it in her mouth and runs back to us.
“Drop it,” Mom says.
Icky drops the ball at Mom’s feet. Mom throws the ball again. And again. And again.
Soon Icky tires out and does not want to run as far. So this time, when Icky brings the ball back, Mom lets me throw it for Icky.
“It’s your turn,” Mom tells me.
I pick up the ball and throw it one foot away. Icky jumps at it and brings it back to me. My turn again! I throw the ball another foot.
Icky and I pass the ball back and forth for a short time more.
I am glad I am so strong and can throw the ball for Icky. It is a fun game.
[...] One day, when I can throw the ball far, I shall play ball with the dogs. [...]
